Places around Kumbkonam

During the trip of Tamil Nadu we visited in Kumbkonam. The city has lot of ancient temples which are definitely worth a visit. There are around 188 Hindu temples within the municipal limits of Kumbakonam. But we visited only a few temples in the city and stayed in this place overnight.

There are lot of historical places around the city. And our focus was on visiting these places.

They used to say there must be at least a temple in every street of Kumbakonam and so is called as temple town. Nice capture and good to know u visited those place.

What a beautiful city. I think you could stay a month or so and still not see all of the temples and historical sites. The place you stayed overnight is an awesome piece of architecture....more like are work. Your country amazes me more and more with each of your post I read and view. genie

Beautiful pictures. I could not visit Kumakonam during my long stay at Chennai this year. May be I will cover it August/September. My intrests ar at Gaingaikondacholapuram, Darasuram and Tribhuvanam. Would try to cover them extensively.
